[papercreters] Pump up Papercreters.

I figure I won't try to disguise this request. I'd much rather be blunt and obvious. No trying to beat around the bush and drop hints. Put my cards on the table. Wear my feelings on my sleeve, and every other cliche.

I'm just going to ask for everyone's help. This is everyone's group after all.

Some have mentioned that they would like to see this group get more active and discuss more stuff again. I have even gotten email requests asking me to jump start the group. I agree. That's the whole point of having the group in the first place. Sharing information is what we are about.

So. I thought we should try something new.

Starting today, I'm asking each member to consider posting in their own personal blog something about papercrete and why they find it interesting (and any other blog someone writes for where it would be appropriate). Then I'm asking you to mention this group and provide a link back here to help others find us.

New fresh faces usually stimulate new fresh conversations and new topics. Sometimes they will ask some of the same questions previously asked, but that's okay too.

So, if you have your own blog, and you'd like to give this group a plug, please do so. Obviously this is a request, not a demand. You don't have to do it if you do not want to.

Could you add this group to your favorite links on your blog site, or on your blogroll?

DO NOT SPAM!!!!

Please do not spam other groups or message boards about Papercreters. That is THE LAST THING I would ever want, and I hope everyone agrees with that concept. We should all respect other groups and their members. Please do not create threads in other public forums for the specific purpose of publicizing Papercreters.

Be polite and respect others.

Don't be afraid to mention this group if the subject of papercrete comes up and others are seeking information about papercrete, but please be sure it is in response to someone else's question or post. Not something that you are creating just so you can give this group a plug.

Are you on Facebook or other social networking site?
Perhaps you might want to put something up there about Papercreters, and link back to this group?

Are you on Twitter? Want to give us a shoutout?

If you are an author for a website or a publication, perhaps you might consider writing an article about papercrete? Perhaps you might want to mention this group in your article? If you would like to get quotes or other information to include in an article, many here, including myself, would be happy to help if at all possible. I do think it would be appropriate to get the appropriate member's permission before using their photos, but I'm confident that most of our members will gladly agree if asked, but please make the effort of asking.

Lastly but perhaps most importantly, for those that have asked me to stimulate more activity on Papercreters, do your part! Post about a project you are working on. Post an update on an old project and how it is holding up. Post a question. (The only stupid questions are the questions that go unasked.) Perhaps we all can learn something together.

Have you tried something new or different? Have you attempted something you have read about on Papercreters that someone else did? Don't be afraid to show them how they inspired you to give it a try.

Don't worry if it's not perfect. Sometimes when things don't go exactly as planned or produce the unexpected is when we all can learn the most.

Of course, as always.
Learn, Share, and HAVE FUN!
